Days of Wonder launches Star Wars: Battle of Hoth board game

The game is based on co-designer Richard Borg’s Command & Colour system – seen in titles like Memoir ’44 and Battle Cry.

Days of Wonder has launched Star Wars: Battle of Hoth, a new board game from co-designers Richard Borg and Adrien Martinot.

Based on Richard Borg’s Command & Colour system – seen in titles like Memoir ’44 and Battle Cry – Star Wars: Battle of Hoth sees players take command of the Imperial Army or Rebel forces. By strategically playing command cards, players can move troops across the battlefield and attack the enemy.

“We focused on designing a cross-generational game experience, where players of all ages can enjoy a truly strategic and tactical game with a balanced playing time and unexpected twists” says co-designer Adrien Martinot.

Co-designer Richard Borg added: “This epic battle that opens the movie Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was a major inspiration for creating new rules and content, allowing us to offer a simple but extensive game.”

Star Wars: Battle of Hoth board game features 17 scenarios to play through, as well as two campaigns, where the outcome of each battle influences which scenario is played next.
