										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Brands Untapped’s Brand Design Conference, in partnership with Brand Licensing Europe, will now take place in November as a virtual event.</strong></p>
<p>The conference, exploring creativity and design thinking around brand extensions, was originally due to take place as a live event next month. This new format will see video panel discussions, solo talks and interviews released via the Brands Untapped newsletter on November 24th.</p>
<p>These video sessions will be pre-recorded rather than live, so viewers can pick and choose to watch content when it suits them. Content already announced will become virtual, with additional material being recorded for the digital format.</p>
<p>“We’ve been delighted with the industry’s response to the Brand Design Conference content, and the enthusiasm for design-focused celebration,” said Brands Untapped’s Billy Langsworthy, adding: “Making the event virtual now lets anyone engage with the content, anywhere in the world and at any time. We look forward to launching some fascinating talks and panels in November.”</p>

<p>Those interested in attending the Brand Design Conference are also invited to attend Brand Licensing Europe for free on 20th September to check out the Brand Designs panel discussion at 10:30am. Chaired by Brands Untapped’s Billy Langsworthy and featuring Skew’s Oliver Dyer, Wildbrain CPLG’s Michael Ogunseitan and The Roald Dahl Story Company’s Stephanie Griggs, the panel will explore the creative strategies and design thinking that goes into crafting authentic, successful brand extensions.</p>

<p>Triclops Studio is an award-winning design agency and invention studio whose expertise span front-end toy and game concept development, future thinking, character creation, IP story and world building, as well as strategy and brand architecture.</p>
<p>Based in East London, the think tank specialists work with a whole host of toy and entertainment clients, ranging from the likes of Hasbro, Mattel, LEGO, Moose Toys, and Spin Master to brand owners like Disney, BBC, Nickelodeon, and Aardman to name a few.</p>
<p>In their session, Rob and Luc will showcase examples of how they ‘squeeze the juice’ out of brands to generate fresh thinking and innovative product ideas.</p>

<p>In his session – titled ‘Breakthrough Design for Future Leaders: Earning Your Seat at the Decision-making Table’ – Oliver will look at how creatives can own the impact of their work and lead the conversation in a fast-changing industry.</p>
<p>Drawing from his MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins and trend forecasting at IWS and International Textiles, Oliver launched Skew to bring style to the licensing industry, introducing a novel trending process to BBC Worldwide, HIT and Nickelodeon.</p>
<p>With a jump from design to creative direction, Oliver has since expanded Skew from trend to a full-service offer, helping the likes of Formula One, The British Museum, and The National Trust to develop their brand extensions.</p>

<p>Sophie’s session will explore the importance of storytelling as a creative direction for brand extensions.</p>
<p>Having worked at the likes of WildBrain CPLG and Viacom, Sophie set up her own consultancy firm in 2020 to focus on problem-solving around licensed consumer products. She also works on bespoke trend guides, forecasts, retail pitches and brand development.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Brands Untapped has dated the inaugural Brand Design Conference, a one-day event exploring design thinking and creativity around brand licensing.</strong></p>
<p>The Brand Design Conference – held in association with Brand Licensing Europe – takes place on Monday, September 19th at ExCeL London.</p>
<p>The day will feature inspiring keynotes and engaging panel sessions highlighting the creativity powering the industry, with speakers spanning Creative Directors, Designers and Licensing Execs from licensors, licensees and agencies.</p>
<p>“We’re incredibly excited to be putting on an event that explores the design process behind great brand extensions, and there’s no better time to so than the eve of Brand Licensing Europe,” said Billy Langsworthy, co-founder of Brands Untapped.</p>
