LEGO has partnered with Nintendo to launch a set inspired by The Legend of Zelda.

The LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set is a brick-built recreation of the character. The 2,500-piece set can either be built as the Great Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time or from Breath of the Wild.

Both builds offer interactive features. In the Breath of the Wild version, the Great Deku Tree’s face can be animated with the press of a lever, while the Ocarina of Time Great Deku Tree version has a mouth that opens to reveal a Skulltula.

The set includes options to build the Master Sword pedestal from Breath of the Wild and Link’s House from Ocarina of Time. It also comes with four LEGO minifigures – in the Breath of the Wild version, Princess Zelda and Link are dressed in their recognisable blue attire. In the Ocarina of Time rendition, there’s Young Link and Link.

The set also includes buildable characters and creatures such as Hestu the Korok, several smaller Koroks, Deku Babas, Navi the Fairy and the Deku Sprout.

“I’m really thrilled that The Legend of Zelda is joining the world of LEGO bricks, which has spurred the creative impulses of so many people of all ages,” said Eiji Aonuma, Producer of The Legend of Zelda series at Nintendo Co., Ltd.

“The Deku Tree was the first element from The Legend of Zelda we wanted to represent using LEGO bricks. I can’t wait for everyone to get the chance to build this part of The Legend of Zelda world with their own hands”.

LEGO Designer Wes Talbott added: “Our fans have been asking for a LEGO set based on The Legend of Zelda series for a while, so we were delighted to work with Nintendo to create the Great Deku Tree in brick form.

“As a fan of the franchise, it was great to work on this set and fill it with details and references from the games. I’m also glad we managed to offer the choice to build one of two versions to appeal to many Zelda fans. I can’t wait to see the fans reaction to this set.”

The LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 Set is available from September 1st priced at £259.99.
